Tape Slots
SmartClients
A SmartClient enables a client node to use locally attached tape devices for backup and restore. This requires one license per SmartClient enabled node.
Open File Manager
The Open File Manager (OFM) Plugin provides the ability to backup/restore open files on a logical volume basis at the block- or filelevel, for single or multiple volumes concurrently. OFM support is available for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Netware operating systems.
Virtual Library Capacity
A Virtual Disk Library (VDL) enables Disk-to-Disk (D2D) backups to be performed. A VDL is created as a pseudo-device with tape drives and slots emulating a traditional tape library, on some form of magnetic media such as magnetic disk drives, high performance RAID and NAS systems. VDLs are licensed based on total capacity within the NetVault Domain.
NAS NDMP
NAS filers that will be backed up using NDMP to a locally attached device are subject to tier based licensing. Licensing is per NAS device and is based on the total usable disk capacity of the filer.
